ABOUT THE ARTIST

Chelsea St Cyr has enjoyed drawing since she was a little girl, but it wasn’t until she watched Avatar: The Last Airbender that her mind opened up to the possibility of being an artist when she grew up. Following her passion, she decided to major in Animation at the University of Central Florida, and she earned her BFA in 2019.

But the learning didn’t stop there. She poured into her reservoir of art and passion by exposing herself to more mediums of visual art and storytelling. These would include Women In Animation’s mentorship circle Fashion 101 for Character Design, Storyteller Academy’s course Crafting Picture Book Stories, and illustration workshops hosted by Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators.

The skills and knowledge gained from these experiences are the ingredients she needed to infuse her love of fashion into her character designs, give her backgrounds a personality, create a mood through color palettes, and explore different art styles.

When she is not drawing, she likes to spend time putting together new outfits, socializing with friends, reading, or working on cosplay.
